The Hygge Homestead

Welcome to The Hygge Homestead – A New Chapter Rooted in Simplicity

After nearly two decades of guiding clients toward better health through my holistic practice, I’m stepping into a new chapter—one that feels deeply personal, grounding, and beautifully in tune with nature. We’ve recently settled into our little oasis, lovingly named The Hygge Homestead, and I’m so excited to share this journey with you.

You’ll start seeing a shift on the blog and across my platforms. Rather than focusing solely on holistic consultations, I’ll begin sharing more about our everyday life on the homestead. We’ll be growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs, caring for chickens, as well as sharing our different projects. In addition, I’ll be offering seasonal herbal remedies you can make at home, nourishing recipes from The Homestead Kitchen, and natural solutions for everything from immune support to garden pests. Simply put, it’s about getting back to basics—embracing simple living, real food, deep breaths, and a life of connection.

We’ve recently settled into our little oasis, lovingly named The Hygge Homestead, and I’m so excited to share this journey with you.

From now on, you’ll notice a gentle shift here on the blog and across my platforms.

What Is Hygge

Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is a Danish word that’s hard to translate directly, but it beautifully captures a feeling of coziness, contentment, and presence. It’s about savoring the little things—morning light through the trees, a warm cup of tea, soft blankets, meaningful conversations, and a slower more intentional pace.

This concept of hygge aligns perfectly with a holistic lifestyle. It encourages us to find balance, prioritize rest, and make space for silence, nature, grounding, and a natural rhythm—what I’ve always seen as essential pieces of true health. Rather than pushing for perfection, hygge invites us to create a life that feels good on the inside. From Practitioner to Homesteader (but not letting go)

I am incredibly grateful for the past 20 years of serving clients through hands-on therapy, nutritional coaching, and lifestyle guidance. Watching people transform their health with small, intentional steps has been one of my life’s greatest honors.

While I’m no longer offering in-person services like reflexology or craniosacral therapy, I will continue to offer AO Frequency Scans for both new and existing clients. These scans remain one of the most powerful tools I’ve used to uncover imbalances and support the body’s healing from the inside out. So if you’re ready to dive deep into your health through energetic frequencies, I’m still here for you.

What You Can Expect Moving Forward

The Hygge Homestead blog will become a space where I share:

  • Seasonal recipes using garden-grown ingredients
  • Homemade herbal and natural remedies
  • Simple living tips and DIY projects
  • Reflections on slowing down and reconnecting with what matters
  • Insights into rhythms of nature, grounding, and circadian health
  • Updates on our journey growing our own food and raising chickens
  • And glimpses into our everyday life here on the homestead

Whether you’ve been with me for years or you’re new here, I welcome you with open arms. Let’s slow down, breathe deeper, and create a life rooted in peace, purpose, and nourishment—together.

With warmth and gratitude,
Birgitte

P.S. If you’re curious about some of the tools, books, or homestead favorites I mention here and on social media, you can explore my Amazon favorites page here. It’s a small way to support the work I share—and I only recommend what I personally use and love.
